Join Elizabeth from Forage Culture in learning to use edible flowers to enhance your culinary experience.
Dotting a plate with fresh flowers is an easy way to make a dish picture perfect, but when you dry, syrup, or pickle flowers, you can enhance & create a flavor profile where fresh flowers can’t compete. We’ll start with an introduction to flower flavors & a general overview of preservation techniques. Participants will have a print out to follow along & to fill in notes on their preferences. Then we’ll break into small groups and explore several tasting stations in pre-portioned containers to get a better idea of just how versatile flowers can be. We’ll finish up by sharing our likes & dislikes, and discussing recipe ideas. Welcoming & beautiful, this interactive class is perfect for city dwellers, foragers, gardeners, & chefs.
